What Is “Kinky”?

ґ~~>у ollege students were asked what the phrase "kinky sex" meant to them and how they would feel if their partner asked them to engage in "kinky" sex. Where, exactly, do most college students draw the line in the bedroom?

Male: Kinky includes anything that involves going beyond what you’re used to. I feel that if you act out of character, you are kinky I have certain things that turn me on and certain things that don’t. For example,

I don’t think anal sex is that outrageous but my girlfriend does.

Female: I’m not afraid to share details about my sex life, and I like to learn and experience different types of sexual activities.

This is abundantly clear to anyone who comes in my room and sees the whip and handcuffs hanging off the bedpost. For me, something is kinky if it gets you excited because you feel you are being deviant by doing it.

Male: If somebody asked me to be "kinky," I might tie them up or something. I think assuming a dominating

position in the bedroom could be interesting. As for drawing the line, I remember one person telling me about "skat." This involves sexual arousal and the actual act of sex being performed using human feces (including orally). Yeah, I’d draw the line way before that.

Female: If my partner asked me to try something new, or kinky, I would probably consider it. It’s fun to experiment with some j new behaviors… it brings a lot of spon – Л taneity to the bedroom. I would draw the line at behaviors that made me feel uncomfortable. I would also become concerned if my partner liked behaviors that are aggressive or inflict pain. But as a general rule of thumb: anything that we both consent to is fair game.

Male: If a girl decided to give a guy a blow job but threw in the twist of putting ice in her mouth while she did it, that might be classified as kinky. Most people are brought up on the idea that sex in general or other sexual acts are performed under certain universal guidelines or standards.

A strong and varied fantasy life is the sign of healthy sexuality, and acting out fantasies in a safe sexual situation can add excitement to one’s sex life. Problems may arise when: the fantasy or desire becomes so prominent or preoccupying that you are unable to function sexually in its absence; sexual play is taken to the point of physical or psychological injury; you feels extreme levels of guilt about the desire; or your compulsion to perform a certain type of sexual behavior interferes with everyday life, disrupts your personal relationships, or risks getting you in trouble with the law. Under any of these circumstances, it is advisable to see a qualified sex therapist or counselor.
