Подпись: The Autobiography of a Flea is an anonymously written Victorian erotic novel of 1901. The unknown Flea tells the tale of Bella, innocent and curious, and her leap into the realms of lust, first with Charlie and then with Father Ambrose. It was made into a porno film in 1976.

These ancient Indian texts by philosopher Mallanaga Vatsyayana are actually mostly about love. A small section deals with sexual behaviour and positions, but rather than being a sex manual as is often thought, the general theme is caring and etiquette, including cooking and calligraphy. The work focuses on partnerships rather than the individual. It promotes mutual sexual appreciation and pleasure as something to be respected rather than be ashamed of.

‘Here’s how men think: sex, work, food, sports and lastly,
begrudgingly relationships. And here’s how women think:
relationships, relationships, relationships, work, sex, shopping,
weight, food.’ Carrie Fisher, Postcards From The Edge, 1987
